Since 2015, the ANCOR Foundation has been inviting authors, thought leaders and educators to coach our present and future leaders in the I/DD field. These extended workshops are intended to stretch the thinking and build the skills of our field’s best and brightest leaders. Previous workshop facilitators have included: Tom Schramski, Tom Pomeranz, Carson Dickie, Don Tebbe and Charles Dorison. Topics have ranged from cultivating strengths, implementing and sustaining change to leadership decision-making.
The Leadership Forum is offered annually at no additional cost to current members of the Foundation’s Leadership Academy and available for a minimal registration fee for a limited number of additional participants who would like to enhance their leadership abilities as they cultivate truly inclusive communities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Each year, the ANCOR Foundation hosts the Renee L. Pietrangelo Leadership Forum. Named for a past ANCOR CEO and longtime leader in the I/DD services community, the Leadership Forum aims to enhance the leadership capacity of current and emerging leaders in the I/DD services provider community.
We are excited to announce that this year's Leadership Forum will feature Dr. Monica Almond, who will guide us through a virtual presentation, The Power of Unconscious Bias & How to Mitigate It on Thursday, October 14.
Leaders in our field have made the commitment to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully participate in their communities. In order to do that, we need to recognize not just their abilities and disabilities, but also every aspect of their identities. If our organizations’ missions are built around including, supporting and empowering people with I/DD, what mental shifts do leaders need to make in order to ensure the people they support and the staff that they employ are recognized and valued for who they are?
The Leadership Forum is offered annually at no cost to participants in the ANCOR Foundation's Leadership Academy and for a nominal registration fee for a limited number of interested participants. Reserve your seat at the table today!
