VBP Series: Introduction to Value-Based Payments

July 31, 2019 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Eastern Daylight Time

Webinar Series Overview

Value-based payments. Alternate payment models. Pay for Performance. Quality and Outcomes. Hot topics in the healthcare industry that are anticipated to influence how I/DD services and supports will be delivered in the not-so-distant future. But, what exactly is this new operating environment? What do I/DD providers need to know, and what can they do to prepare for this shift in how they provide, measure, and get reimbursed for quality services?  How does this relate to managed care and HCBS waivers? This three-part series will provide attendees with the foundational knowledge to effectively engage in the dialogue as payers move toward value-based payment models for I/DD services and supports.

Session #1: Introduction to Value-Based Payments

Vikki Wachino, former Director of Medicaid and CHIP Services at CMS, will decode value-based payments, alternate payment models, pay for performance, and what these mean for IDD service providers. She will address why the healthcare industry is shifting toward value-based payments; how value-based payments are anticipated to impact I/DD services; and what providers need to think about as the VBP model is applied to I/DD services and supports.  If you missed her at the 2019 annual conference, this is your chance to hear how states and payers are approaching I/DD payments.

A recording will be made available for registrants.
