Celebrate the Past, Prepare for the Future

The Program

The ANCOR Foundation Legacy Leaders Circle honors our finest and most influential leaders. The ANCOR Foundation Legacy Leaders Circle celebrates the accomplishments of long-term ANCOR members who made significant contributions to ANCOR during his/her tenure as a member. The inaugural class of 25 was inducted into the Legacy Leaders Circle on September 13, 2010 at ANCOR's 40th Anniversary Party.


The ANCOR Foundation is pleased to solicit nominations for its Legacy Leaders Circle. This effort will celebrate the accomplishments of the men and women who have paved the way in making ANCOR the premier trade association representing more than 1,000 private providers for nearly 500,000 Americans with disabilities.

Nominations can come from a variety of sources, including:

  • Agency board of directors
  • Agency personnel
  • Family members
  • Colleagues

Nominees for this award will have distinguished themselves in one or more of the following ways:

  • Active, long-term ANCOR membership (minimum of seven years);
  • Service as chair, co-chair or committee member within ANCOR;
  • Participation in ANCOR or ANCOR Foundation governance structure (Board of Directors, Board of Representatives, etc.);
  • Other association activity.

Levels of Support

The Foundation recommends a minimum contribution of $1,000 to accompany each nomination to support leadership development and recognition activities.

Examples of activities supported with these contributions, include the following:

  • Support the Emerging Leaders program;
  • Partial scholarship to attend the Leadership Institute at the University of Delaware;
  • Support DSP development efforts.


Nominations will be accepted from a variety of sources, including agency boards of directors, family members and colleagues.

A selection committee will review nominations. If nominee is selected, the nominator ensures minimum contribution of $1,000 is made to ANCOR Foundation prior to induction at ANCOR Annual Conference. Nominator also ensures nominee's travel expenses, to attend the Annual Conference to receive the recognition, will be covered.

The honoree will receive the following:

  • A commemorative plaque
  • His or her name on the ANCOR Foundation Legacy Leaders Circle
  • Recognition at ANCOR's Annual Conference
  • Recognition in ANCOR publications

Nominations are accepted throughout the year, and the ANCOR Foundation recognizes Legacy Leaders annually.

Note: the Legacy Leaders Circle is affiliated with the ANCOR Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions made to the Legacy Leaders Circle are tax-deductible. You will receive a gift receipt upon payment for your generous contribution.
