About Amber

Amber Corrieri brings over 20 years of nonprofit and community leadership to her role as Chief Operating Officer at Mainstream Living. Originally working in finance, Amber followed her passion for strengthening human service systems into the disability services field, joining Mainstream Living in 2011 as Development Director. She later served as Director of Corporate Compliance for seven years before stepping into her current leadership role in 2023.

Amber’s portfolio is broad and mission-focused—spanning Human Resources, risk management, communications, property maintenance, development, and compliance. She also works closely with program staff to advance Mainstream Living’s commitment to inclusive, person-centered services. She led the creation of a dedicated Risk Management department, reinforcing the organization’s operational foundation and long-term sustainability.

A trusted civic leader, Amber is serving her third term on the Ames City Council and has a long history of involvement with local nonprofit and civic organizations. She is currently a board member for the Ames Education Foundation and previously chaired the Story County Housing Trust Fund, which she helped establish. Her community leadership includes board service with the Iowa Alliance for Boys and Girls Clubs, Ames Economic Development Commission, Rotary Club of Ames, and the Ames Human Relations Commission, among others.

Amber’s work has earned recognition across Iowa, including the ‘Outstanding Young Iowan’ award from the Iowa Jaycees and the ‘Difference Maker of the Year’ award from The Ames Foundation for her role in building a Miracle League Field and Playground in Ames.
