About Erica

Erica Thomas is one of the nation’s leading experts in human sexuality education for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and a passionate advocate for dignity, autonomy, and inclusion in every area of life. With more than 20 years in the field, Erica currently serves as Education and Outreach Manager at RCM of Washington, where she designs and leads innovative, person-centered programs rooted in self-advocacy and community connection.

A gifted educator and facilitator, Erica has facilitated high-impact initiatives such as the Direct Support Professional Academy, Travel Training Program, and Guided Group Discovery. She is especially celebrated for her pioneering sexuality and relationship education programs—including Social Circle, My Body, My Choice, and Healthy Relationships—which promote body autonomy, healthy boundaries, and sexual health for people with disabilities. Erica is known nationwide for her dynamic presentations and receives rave reviews for her ability to engage audiences with clarity, compassion, and humor.

Erica holds certifications as a MANDT crisis intervention instructor, a credentialed health coach, and a nationally certified educator through the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators. She is a proud graduate of Frostburg State University and the ANCOR Foundation Leadership Academy. Outside of work, you’ll find her traveling, napping, and spending time with family and friends.
