Katie Slade

Katie Slade leads with a fundamental belief that service systems should be both smart and human—responsive to data and deeply grounded in the realities of people’s lives. As Executive Director, she brings together strategic planning, infrastructure development, fundraising, and advocacy to create services that are sustainable, effective, and person-centered.

Katie’s why is rooted in a desire to make complex systems work better for everyone they touch—especially for the people who rely on them and the teams who deliver them. She designed a data-driven strategic pipeline that turns feedback into action, guiding service evolution and shaping business decisions. Her leadership has helped sustain underfunded services through major grant wins and long-term development efforts, including planned giving. Whether advocating at the statehouse or meeting with partners, she works to translate service delivery into stories that resonate and drive support.

Her approach to technology is equally intentional. Katie collaborates directly with developers to build custom systems and integrations that go beyond what off-the-shelf tools offer—supporting staff, streamlining operations, and solving problems when standard solutions fall short. She currently serves on Iowa’s HHS Remote Supports Workgroup and Strategic Framework Committee, where she helps shape policy and planning at the state level.
