About Mary

Mary Valachovic has dedicated over 35 years to advancing disability services, strengthening advocacy efforts, and supporting families. As the President and CEO of The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod, she leads initiatives that ensure individuals with disabilities and their families receive the resources and support they need to thrive. She also serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Sibling Support Network (MSSN), helping to elevate the voices of siblings of individuals with disabilities.

Mary’s commitment to disability advocacy is deeply personal. Her late brother Matthew, who lived with a developmental disability, continues to be her inspiration both professionally and personally. She has dedicated her career to expanding community-based supports, improving policies, and fostering inclusion. In addition to her leadership roles, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers and is actively involved in policy and advocacy efforts through The Arc of Massachusetts.

Mary is also a member of the National Arc Alumni Council and has previously served on the National Sibling Council, working to strengthen disability services at both the state and national levels. She lives in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and is proud of her two children, Ian and Grace, who both work in the field of special education.
