About Winifred
Wini Schiff is the Chief Executive Officer of the InterAgency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies, Inc. (IAC). She has worked in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) for over 40 years and is known for bringing people together and speaking up for change that helps both providers and the people they support.
Wini started her career in 1986 and has done many types of work in the field—from direct care and staff training to program design and leadership. Before becoming CEO, she was IAC’s Associate Executive Director for Legislative Affairs. In that role, she helped make important progress on issues like staffing, funding, and better support systems.
She also created the DSP Sustainability Project, which helps direct support professionals stay in the jobs they love by focusing on their full well-being. This project helps improve job satisfaction and the quality of care people receive.
Wini is a trusted voice in New York and works closely with other leaders and organizations. She currently serves on:
- The New York State Procurement Council, representing NYSID to support job opportunities for people with I/DD
- The Justice Center Advisory Council, focused on protecting people with special needs
- The Board of Directors for New York Disability Advocates (NYDA)
- The Coalition for Whole Person Supports, working to improve care across different systems
Wini is respected across the state for her clear vision, her steady leadership, and her drive to make the I/DD system stronger and more inclusive.
