About the Leadership Academy
The ANCOR Foundation Leadership Academy is for leaders who want to grow. It began in 2017 to lay the groundwork for a more inclusive future by nurturing emerging leaders who are building their careers in community-based supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Over the course of two years, Leadership Academy participants receive training, mentorship and opportunities for hands-on leadership development to prepare them to lead dynamic disability services organizations.
The Leadership Academy challenged me to think big, collaborate across states and elevate bold ideas. It showed me how future-focused leadership truly starts today.

Each fall, the ANCOR Foundation solicits applications from interested participants, who are competitively selected to begin their two-year Leadership Academy journey starting in the spring of the following year.
To be eligible to apply, interested participants are not required to hold membership in ANCOR. However, applicants must:
Be a full-time employee of an organization that delivers services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Have a minimum of five years of experience working in the field of disability supports.
Have a minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
Submit their application prior to the published deadline.
To ensure fairness, consistency and diversity of perspective, each Leadership Academy application is reviewed by a multi-perspective panel using a structured, transparent process.
